The teenager accused of killing the brother of a prominent Atlanta pastor will face a judge today. Alejandro Pitts, 17, is charged with the murder and armed robbery of Jerrick Jackson.
Investigators say Jackson and his fiancé were ambushed by several men on May 7 at his home on Lowe Street in
northwest Atlanta. Jackson was the younger brother of Atlanta Bishop Wiley Jackson.
Shortly after the crime, police released surveillance video from a nearby convenience store which showed three men suspected in the fatal robbery. Investigators say the suspects tried to use the stolen debit card belonging to Jackson’s fiancé shortly after the crime took place.
Pitts was arrested Police are still working to identify the other men seen on the surveillance tape.
Pitts is scheduled for a first appearance at 11 a.m. at the Fulton County Jail. He also has the option of waiving that appearance.
